Otome Game Review: Yume wa Mou Ichido (+ Koufuku no Kaze)

November 9, 2009

“Dream One More Time” is a boring game about Hitomi, boring carier woman and her boring life at the office where the most exciting thing is some bitchy co-worker or a drunk boss. Additionally she’s not been in love for a long time so until she suddenly gets the hots for the guys at her company (and around her house) so it’s a really weird transition. There’s obviously only 1 guy in this game who she’s had feelings for since her high school days making the rest of the cast pretty meaningless. Additionally there’s a guy in this game who’s 4 endings are all BAD ENDS and I didn’t wanna find out what those were (raep anyone?) so I decided to just skip him altogether.   After playing 2 guys routes my friend told me that the fandisk was actually a “supplement” to the game rather than a separate thing (like with Under the Moon and Jingi Naki Otome) so I decided to install that and finish playing the game that way. This means this post will contain fandisk spoilers as well.

Reorganization @_@;

October 16, 2009
Nice bug.

Nice bug.

It has come to my attention that I’m playing too many games *_*;; Need to reorganize myself a little here. Let’s go down the list of what my current/future plans are for these games (and this blog.)

aisp@ce - Recently they released the water shooting game but I think in order to have any decent shooting power you gotta buy the super expensive nicopoint cosplay. As of October, it’s been 1 year since I began aisp@ce and well it’s pretty much boring. You just buy cash items and chat and that’s about it. The water shooting was supposed to add some spice to the game and I could have sworn they wanted to add a new island but when I logged on the shooting didn’t even work and 1 year later, no new island. I’m thinking around November or so I’ll finally uninstall this thing. Read the rest of this entry ?

Otome Game Review: Starry☆Sky ~In Autumn~

October 9, 2009

And so we’re back with the fall season game. Just as the others it features Tsukiko and her 3 eligible bachelors – in this case, her teachers. As expected one of the main “plotlines” of the game is just that – she’s a student, they’re teachers, IT’S A FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIP! The thing is it doesn’t feel that bad to me because 2 of them are younger than me and one of them is the same age as my husband xDDD. There’s a couple weird things though. Suzuya and Kanata are still around to “look out” after Tsukiko in text form but they never have any dialogue on or off screen (although they do appear in one of the CGs.) The other thing is that Tsukiko mentions how Yoh went back to France but she also said this in the Summer game and boom he’s there in the background of Cgs in both this and the summer game. Talk about inconsistency lol. While it appears that Tsukiko continues her archery club activities, only the teacher in charge is ever mentioned (obviously since he’s one of the main characters) but the 3 summer boys do appear in one of the CGs. (Homare senpai (´;ω;`)) Anyway spoilers & stuff after the jump!

Otome Game Review: Gin no Kanmuri, Ao no Namida

October 1, 2009

My husband wouldn’t shut up about this game, so I finally decided to play it. The game is actually about a woman who has to cheat on her husband in order to get a good end with any of the other men. Yes it’s a game about adultery. I’ve never played any other Aromarie games, and well this will probably be my first and last one. The art was just not appealing and the fact that the main guy who you have to cheat on was voiced by some 50 year old jiji, didn’t really help things. The game started out with a flashback to how Aya first met Shinichiro while working at her hotel. She had as much interest in him as I do in banging my head against the wall for an hour. In fact from the start she seemed like she had more interest in the random bishies she met during work and her free time, so it was really a wonder why she went as far as to MARRY this guy. The catch is, they got married in a private ceremony just the two of them – but never handed in their official wedding papers. This gives Aya technical “leeway” that she’s not actually performing adultery by going with other dudes…cause they’re not actually married! Read the rest of this entry ?

Otome Game Review: Garnet Cradle

September 13, 2009

What happens if you take Fushigi Yuugi and combine it with Hanasakeru Seishounen? You get this otome game. The story is about a very ojou-sama type heroine who her best friend and brother call “hime-sama”. She also gets picked for some important main lead role in the traditional school play. She’s also one of the top school students and the class president of her class. Hell even the randy nurse man hits on her. She’s got 2 close female friends Nono-chan and Tsubaki-chan – although Tsubaki is actually an important role in one of the routes while Nono is just the “supportive best friend” character. One day she chases some black nuko and ends up in some arabian country that she read about in her play book (hence the FY reference.) Apparently she’s some shrine maiden princess who will save that country (hurr) and make the prince there a king.  During the night in the other world she ends up back at home in her world. Then when she goes to sleep at night in her world, she’s back in arabian country land. And so our story begins. (Warning: Major spoilers ahead, name butchering follows.) NO U, QuinRose.

September 6, 2009
Where are my bishies!!

Where are my bishies!!

So I attempted to start playing Crismon Empire this weekend. Today this attempt ends in failure. It started with a really long prologue about some loli who was kissed by some pedobear demon, who then took her to hell & back. Then she got her hair pulled my multpile men and became some assassin maid in order to protect some country’s prince (who is a bishie she’s supposed to end up with in this game.) UNFORTUNATELY in order to end up with ANYONE you have to fight furry demons like some pokemon game and then do god knows what else.  Anyway I really don’t have the patience for this shit. It’s really a shame too because the voice cast is fantastic but I like to play visual novels where I just ..read some text, pick some choices, kiss some guys. If I wanted to play an RPG I’d play some MMORPG or something like Final Fantasy. The art’s not even that great either so none of QuinRose games ever appealed to me. I guess this is what I get for downloading every otome game I see and then blindly walking into them, not realizing that they’re just not up my alley.

Gonna uninstall this and move on to something else.
